The person behind the oat milk!

As our Innovation and Quality Manager, Annabel has been quietly doing some of the most important work in New Zealand's plant-based food space, developing products, solving problems most people never see, and asking the hard questions - how food can be better for people and lighter on the planet.

So when Annabel was named a joint winner of the Massey University Woman in Food Science & Technology Award at the 2026 Women in Food & Drink Aotearoa awards, we weren't entirely surprised. But we were incredibly proud.

This award, presented in partnership with Cuisine Magazine, recognises women who are pioneers in food research and development, leaders who raise the profile of the industry and help shape what New Zealand food science looks like to the world.

To us, this award reflects the journey we have been on and the question we’ve asked to get us there.

A University of Otago graduate with a background in Food Science and Marketing, she's helped take Good & Humble from a start-up idea to a nationally recognised brand, including the development of our High Fibre Low Fat Oat Milk, named Beverage of the Year 2025. She's played a central role in returning oat milk production to New Zealand through our purpose-built Auckland facility, using locally grown oats and building real manufacturing capability right here at home.
