The Organic One: Commonsense Organics

Hey Teva, tell us a little about yourself and where we can find you?

Hi, I’m Teva! I’m the Head of Retail at Commonsense Organics.
We’ve been in business for 35 years, serving the wellington region across 4 locations. We also have an Auckland store, you can find us on Dominion Road in Mt Eden.

What does organic mean to you?

Organic means food you can trust. Organic food is produced with the health of the planet and the people living on it in mind. It is also food that tastes delicious!

Why are organic principles so important to the future state of food?

Organic principles help to ensure that food can be produced in a way that nourishes the soil, enabling it to be productive for future generations. Sadly a lot of conventionally grown food is grown in ‘dead’ soil propped up by chemicals which is not sustainable.

What do you love most about the Commonsense Organics community?

The diversity in our community is really encouraging.  People of all walks of life are welcome in our stores –  whether they’re popping in for one or two items or doing the big weekly shop, we are here to support our customers on their wholefood organic journey.

Describe Otis' The Organic One in 3 words?

Delicious, simple, versatile

What are the big exciting things Commonsense Organics is focused on this year?

The same thing as every year - bringing Aotearoa the best range of delicious, organic food we can find, served with genuine passion for what we do!
