Hey look Mum, we made the TV!
Recently here at Otis, we've been actively spreading the word about the ‘Transforming Recycling Proposal’, a long-term project recently released by the Ministry for the Environment with the aim of increasing the recycling of packaging containers, reducing litter and lessening emissions. If you missed the memo but wouldn’t mind some bedtime reading, then we’d love for you to take a look at our website to school yourself up! You can find all the nitty-gritty information about the scheme and Otis’ perspective on the matter here.
This topic is really up our alley, so we were understandably chuffed to be able to voice our concerns in partnership with our incredible friends Ozone Coffee on 1News. Our main gripe with the proposal is that our Liquid Paperboard packaging (commonly known as Tetra Pak) is not being included in the plans for nationwide kerbside recycling despite saveBOARD having more than sufficient capacity to cope with the extra demand.
Feel free to check out our 6pm news story featuring our Head of Sustainability, Hayley Pardoe, here!
So now, after low-key spamming the Government with submissions of feedback from our perspective and encouraging our followers to do the same, we are eagerly awaiting the next announcement on the finalised future plans. A big thank you to those who have reached out to unite in our stand and took the time to make a submission – virtual hugs to you all, we’re so grateful to have this additional people power.
