@cansurfnz is a Waihi Beach summer camp created for young people living with the effects of cancer.
A massive thank you to Liv, Rach and the team at Hui Coffee & Community for hosting and
@allpressespresso for providing the caffeine. Their chosen cause is one particularly close to home for the Hui whanau, as they play a role in fostering community, and use the beach and surfing to support and strengthen their local beach town.

Besides caffeine, what gets you out of bed in the morning?
We are very lucky here in Waihī Beach to have such a gorgeous stretch of beach on our doorstep! My dogs are my alarm clock waking me up for their early morning walk. A swim or surf is my favourite way to start the day - Nothing like some cold water immersion to get you going!
Thank you for being a part of Kawhe for Koha, could you tell us a little about the charity you’ve chosen and why?
CanSurf is such an awesome local charity, which offers a respite weekend here at the Beach to young people from CanTeen (a peer support network for young people and siblings living with cancer.) I taught a yoga class on one of their camps last year and was so inspired by these brave young people. The kaupapa behind this charity is so lovely and one that we were so happy to support.
What are you hopeful for in the New Year?
Lots of Sunshine, Lots of Waves, Lots of Coffee & Lots of Fun!
